This small, cozy, avant-garde restaurant does well
for itself in menu choices, with a nice mix of roll-up sandwiches, salads and
soups.
During my many visits, I would whole-heartedly recommend the southwest salad,
containing a mix of fresh salad veggies and chicken, with a smattering of fruit.
The tangy southwest style dressing is delicious and, in my opinion, makes the
salad one of my favorites.
One of their vegetarian choices, the veggie Reuben, is wonderfully refreshing
and filling. Even we omnivores will enjoy it as a change of pace. If you are a
vegetarian, Eaton Gogh serves a nice selection of roll-ups and salads that will
certainly add an element of excitement to your dining.
Need I mention their she crab soup? Yes! I will mention it as a must if you go
to Eaton Gogh. One of my best lunches there was a bowl of she crab soup and the
southwestern salad. Very filling, and very delicious.
Eaton Gogh has a selection of beer and wine, if you choose to imbibe with your
meal, although I can never resist the free-refill raspberry iced tea.
Roll-up sandwiches are generously filled with your choice of roast beef,
chicken, turkey, with various additions such as onions, peppers, sprouts,
tomatoes, and delicious sandwich spreads. They are indeed filling. Don’t make
the error I once made of ordering a roll-up with a southwest salad unless you
are absolutely famished.
A nice selection of deserts, cheesecakes, chocolate cakes and pies are also, I’m
told, very good. Usually, there is no room left for desert when I eat there, so
I have to give you the word of others on that.
Recently, Eaton Gogh has gone the route of so many other restaurants by offering
a Sunday brunch. The brunch is okay, but certainly not as wonderful as their
regular menu. Try the brunch once in a while for a pleasant change, but
definitely visit for lunch or dinner.
Another recent and welcome addition top Eaton Gogh is a carry out service area
just outside and around the corner from the dining area. All your favorite menu
items are prepared for take out and that allows you to enjoy the fine dining
experience of Eaton Gogh dishes in your own home. That is a great idea for
stopping on the way home to pick up a few delicious items for dinner in your own
dining room.
Associated with Eaton Gogh is the Palettes Catering Company, serving the same
fine cuisine for your special events, whether they be business or personal.
All in all, I highly recommend Eaton Gogh for a fine lunch or dinner, and a fine
place to have a pleasant meal with family and friends.
