Although The Ten Top has non-vegetarian dishes on its menu, I
consider it a vegetarian restaurant because it does have a nice, varied
selection of vegetarian dishes that would appeal to non-vegetarians as well.
The evening we were there, my wife and I ordered a variety of items. First was a
vegetarian tomato basil mozzarella sandwich, and then a grilled turkey and
spinach for me. My wife went with a spicy and filling Ten Top chicken wrap with
fresh salsa and Caesar dressing.
The tomato basil mozzarella sandwich I ordered was extremely good, but the
grilled turkey and spinach I had was heavenly with its generous helpings of
turkey, spinach and cheese on flatbread, quartered and baked to blend the
tastes. It was perfect. I highly recommend it, and it even sounds as if it would
be healthy, but that was beside the point. It was delicious.
The turkey apple club tastes as good as the name is interesting. Contents
include thinly sliced turkey, layered with apples and white cheddar and lettuce,
with tomatoes on a triple-layer hunk of apple bread. You've got to try that one
as well, but certainly only if you are hungry, or are planning on saving some
for later.
Also on the menu are dinners, such as eggplant ratatouille, crab cakes with
lemon sauce, and a "Big" veggie burrito.
Rounding out the sandwich menu are selections such as grilled veggie burger,
Mediterranean wrap, and hot bean and cheese wrap.
Other choices are a variety of salads, hummus, flatbreads, flatbread pizzas and
various noodle dishes, including an "Americanized" Thai noodle entrée.
When you go into The Ten Top, be sure to check out the chalkboard for daily
soups and daily specials.
For take-out or delivery there is a decent selection of beer and wines, in
addition to the usual soft drinks, teas, coffee and water. The Ten Top will also
put together party platters, and you can be sure your guests will love those.
Definitely hit makers at any party.
Although there are a few tables for eating at The Ten Top, we have always gone
to The Ten Top, ordered, and taken our food home with us to enjoy while we watch
a movie. There is delivery, but only in the Ghent area of Norfolk.
