This writer and his wife enjoy
Thai food, and Bangkok Garden in Virginia Beach has long been a favorite of
ours. It's near the Virginia Beach Central Library, and you know how hungry
reading at the library can make you!
Phad Thai is one of my favorite dishes at Bangkok Garden, and to wash it down
with a refreshing glass of Thai Iced Tea is heavenly indeed.
Of course, one starts out the meal with scrumptious spring rolls or maybe a few
sticks of Chicken or Beef Satay with that wonderfully spicy peanut sauce.
There are a number of meals for every taste at Bangkok Garden, and their menu
also includes a good number of meals that would appeal to vegetarian diners.
Heck, even non-vegetarian diners like myself have enjoyed the veggie dishes!
One warning, and this is nothing new to you villagers who frequent Thai
restaurants, if they ask you Thai-spicy, normal-spicy or mild, pick mild if
you've not tried Thai food. Normal-spicy is hot (and delicious); you have to be
Thai (or have NASA heat shield material in your stomach) to order Thai-spicy,
and the mild is still spicy, but good for neophyte Thai diners.
All in all, the food, service and atmosphere at Bankok Garden are ideal for a
special meal with that special someone in your life, a business lunch, or just a
treat for the palate.
Bangkok Garden also has a location on 21st Street in Norfolk.
